Linking Local to Global: A Development Education Resource for NFQ Level 5 Communications was developed to support tutors and teachers delivering the QQI Level 5 Minor Award in Communications (Module 5N0690) in integrating global citizenship themes into their teaching practice in adult and community education contexts.

This teaching resource:

• maps learning outcomes in the Level 5 Communications Component Specification to participative activities with a global justice dimension.
• includes 8 handouts, 5 lesson plans and detailed teaching notes as well as many classic activities on global issues such as The Danger of a Single Story, If the World Were 100 People and the Iceberg of Culture.
• can also be adapted for use with Level 4 Communications or any module or further education course which has a human development and/or social analysis element.
