Resource Title
Place, Politics and Power: A Financial Justice walking tour
Summary
Place, Politics and Power: A Financial Justice walking tour is a non-prescriptive, self-guided tour for post-primary teachers.
This resource contains talking points for ten locations in the Irish Financial Services Centre in Dublin. Interwoven throughout the resource are questions of place, politics and power, directly exploring financial justice, decision making and posing questions such as ‘who has benefited?’ and ‘who has been burdened?’.
With concepts of solidarity being central to the tour, themes of colonialism, neocolonialism and extractivism are explored including the real world implications for people, communities and their land.

Description
Place, Politics and Power is designed to be used in a creative and non-prescriptive manner. The key suggestion is that student participation and enquiry is given priority at every stage of the tour.
There is a specific route to follow as part of the tour, which is outlined clearly and suggestions as to what to prepare in advance of the actual tour, as well as accompanying materials, curriculum links and a map.
