The Centre for Global Education’s bi-annual, peer reviewed, open access journal Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2025. To mark this important milestone for the journal, the Centre for Global Education circulated a special call for contributors to invite 500-word articles on ‘The Future of Development Education’. The articles have been collectively published as part of issue 40 of Policy and Practice in Spring 2025.

This issue of Policy and Practice contains 15 different 500 word articles on The Future of Development Education from a variety of development educators. From children’s rights as a foundation for development education to reconnecting with our radical roots, to action for peace, justice and a sustainable world, the articles cover a variety of perspectives on development education.
