This booklet focuses on the reality for older people in rural communities, both in Ireland and in developing countries. Though very different contexts, there are often shared experiences of poverty and social exclusion. Information is provided on: Older people in a rural context; Access to an adequate standard of living; Access to services. This is supplemented by short case studies of experiences in Ireland, China, Peru, Senegal, and includes statistics from other countries.
